Ferrier Wire Mild Steel Round Hole Perforated Metal Collection
Mild steel round hole perforated metal is a very attractive option for both design and architectural purposes. Our round hole patterns can be used in millwork, railings, infills, privacy screens, and many other applications where cost effective panels are needed. Unlike our design perforated patterns (which vary from 16 to 22 gauge in thickness depending on the pattern), our mild steel round hole perforated patterns are only available in 16 gauge thick sheets for all hole diameters that we stock. Ferrier wire stocks hole diameters ranging from 1/8” to 1.00” in mild steel, much finer hole sizes with applications in filtration are available in our stainless steel catalog of round hole products. Please note that none of our mild steel material is finished with any sort of deterrent for rust, if this product is used outside without being finished it will rust and corrode over time. Powder coating and plating options are available for an additional charge, for more information about our finishing options please feel free to contact us.

Ferrier Wire has recently acquired a turret punching machine capable of punching custom perforations and patterns into raw sheet metal. The Euromac CX1000-30 turret punching machine is a hydro electronically powered CNC punching turret that was acquired in January of 2022. For more information about the Euromac please click here. To see some of our custom perforated patterns please click here.
The process for manufacturing round hole perforated metal involves feeding sheet metal through a press which then punches the desired hole size and spacing directly into the sheet metal. An alternative to this manufacturing process is using coils of steel as opposed to sheet metal. In this process, coils of steel are fed through a punch in a similar manner to the sheet metal process, however when the material exits the punch it remains coiled up and must be flattened with the use of rollers. The perforated coil material is then sheared to size after being run through a set of rollers. Due to the nature of the perforating process, sheets often come out curved and rollers are used to flatten them to the desired shape.
