COVID-19 Call To Action
This morning I sat down and read an article in the politics section of The Globe & Mail that focused on the ways in which Canadian companies are coming together and producing PPE equipment such as medical gowns, as well as ventilators in the fight against COVID-19.
Some of the firms mentioned include CAE, Thornhill Medical, Starfish Medical, Linamar Corp, and Ventilators for Canadians.
Vice President of Global Operations at CAE, Mr. Pascal Grenier stated that “the biggest challenge that CAE faces in meeting its target, which amounts to about 1,000 ventilators a week, is locating suppliers for all the intricate parts that make up the company’s prototype”, and subsequently, “We cannot do it alone. We need the Canadian supply chain to support us.”
Ferrier Wire currently supplies small mesh filter screens to another Canadian ventilator manufacturer, and offers the capacity to produce more.
